Ipamorelin
A selective growth-hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) — stimulates GH release without significantly affecting cortisol or prolactin, unlike older GHRPs.
Why it matters
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide agonist at the ghrelin receptor. The selectivity for GH release (without cortisol or prolactin spikes) makes it preferred over older GHRPs like GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 in research peptide use. Combined with a GHRH analogue (CJC-1295) the GH release is synergistic.
In practice
Typical research protocols use 200–300mcg subcutaneously two or three times daily. Side effects are typically minimal at modest doses.
Common confusion
Ipamorelin is not FDA-approved for any human indication despite its widespread research-peptide market presence.
