How we keep the promise.
Alternative Pharm Press exists to make a confusing, lightly regulated, and frequently mis-sold category legible to the people who use it. The policies below are how we keep that promise practical.
Sourcing standards.
We hold three classes of claim to three different standards.
Scientific & medical claims.
Tied to peer-reviewed literature when it exists. Where it doesn’t, we cite the next most reliable source available — a registered clinical trial, a government health agency, an academic preprint, or a recognised clinical reference — and we say so. We do not cite manufacturer marketing as evidence of efficacy.
Product claims.
Supported by a Certificate of Analysis from an accredited third-party laboratory, ideally ISO/IEC 17025-accredited. The COA must be recent (typically within twelve months), match the batch on sale, and be reviewable by our readers. We link to it whenever possible.
Legal & regulatory claims.
Tied to the primary regulatory source — the statute, the rule, the agency notice, the court opinion. Secondary reporting is used for context, not as the basis for a legal claim.
Corrections, made openly.
We correct errors quickly and openly. When we change a published piece, the change is dated and noted at the bottom of the article in a Corrections block. Substantive errors — anything that altered the meaning of a claim, a dose, a legal status, or a product recommendation — are flagged at the top of the piece as well. Typo-level fixes are made silently.
To request a correction, email corrections@alternativepharmpress.com with the article URL, the passage in question, and the source supporting the correction.
No paid placements in editorial.
We never accept payment, gifts, sponsored trips, free product beyond what is needed for evaluation, equity, or any other consideration in exchange for editorial coverage, ranking, or favourable treatment. Reporters and editors are required to disclose any personal financial interest in a company, product, or compound they cover, and to recuse themselves where the interest is material.
Sponsored content is permitted but always clearly labelled at the top of the piece in our standard “Sponsored” banner, written or reviewed by a member of the sponsor’s team, and never assigned to a member of the editorial staff. Brand directory featured placements are likewise labelled and ranked separately from editorial recommendations. The two streams do not cross.
Authors & credentials.
Every contributor has an author page that lists their professional credentials, areas of focus, and any standing disclosures. Specialist subjects — pharmacology, toxicology, law, clinical practice — are assigned to writers with relevant training, or are reviewed by an outside expert with that training before publication.
Fact-checking.
Long-form features and any piece making clinical, safety, or legal claims are fact-checked against a written source list before publication. The fact-checker works independently of the writer and is responsible for verifying every number, name, date, dose, citation, and direct quotation in the piece. Short news items and opinion columns are reviewed by an editor against the writer’s sources but do not always go through the full fact-check pass; those pieces are labelled accordingly.
Tell us — we read every note.
If you spot a factual error, a sourcing gap, or coverage that appears to violate these policies, write to the corrections desk. We respond to every correction request, whether or not we make the change.
