CJC-1295
A synthetic growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analogue — modified to extend its half-life, used to raise endogenous growth hormone secretion.
Why it matters
CJC-1295 exists in two forms: CJC-1295 without DAC (short half-life, requires multiple daily doses) and CJC-1295 with DAC (drug affinity complex, extended half-life of about a week). Both stimulate the pituitary to release growth hormone via the GHRH receptor.
In practice
Typical research use stacks CJC-1295 with a ghrelin-receptor agonist like ipamorelin for additive growth hormone release. Subcutaneous injection is the standard route.
Common confusion
“Growth hormone peptides” are sometimes treated as equivalent to exogenous growth hormone. The pharmacology is different — these compounds work upstream of GH release rather than replacing it.
