GHRP

RESEARCH PEPTIDES · GLOSSARY ENTRY

GHRP (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide)

A class of synthetic peptides that act on the ghrelin receptor to trigger growth hormone release — includes GHRP-2, GHRP-6, hexarelin, and ipamorelin.

Why it matters

GHRPs are research-only peptides in Western markets. Typical use stacks them with GHRH analogues for synergistic effect.

In practice

GHRPs work on the ghrelin/GH secretagogue receptor, distinct from the GHRH receptor. Combining a GHRP with a GHRH analogue produces additive GH release. Older GHRPs (GHRP-2, GHRP-6) raise cortisol and prolactin in addition to GH; ipamorelin is preferred for cleaner GH selectivity.

Common confusion

“GHRP” and “GHRH analogue” are sometimes confused. The two classes target different receptors and produce additive (not redundant) GH release.
