Research peptide disclaimer
The “for research use only” labelling on virtually all research peptide products — a regulatory designation that limits the legal sale framework, not a quality claim.
Why it matters
Research peptides in the US are sold under “for research use only” labelling, which avoids FDA drug approval requirements by stipulating that the product is not for human consumption. The framework is legally functional but practically transparent: research-peptide vendors are well aware that the buyers are using the compounds for self-administration.
In practice
For consumers the practical implication is that research peptide products are subject to no regulated standards for purity, sterility, dose accuracy, or labelling. Third-party COAs from the vendor are the only verification of identity and quality.
Common confusion
“Research use only” does not mean the product is safe or sterile — it means the regulatory framework is different. The buyer carries the entire quality-control burden.
