Peptide source verification

The practice of evaluating a research-peptide vendor through independent COAs, third-party testing, manufacturing disclosure, and community reputation.

Why it matters

A defensible vendor publishes a recent third-party COA for every batch, conducted by an independent laboratory (not the vendor’s in-house lab), covering identity (by HPLC or mass spectrometry), purity, and microbial contamination. Manufacturing location and equipment, sterility procedures, and storage conditions ideally disclosed.

In practice

Community vetting (forum reputation, independent testing initiatives, longevity of vendor) supplements the documentation. The research-peptide market has substantial variation in quality, with some vendors meeting near-pharmaceutical standards and others delivering inconsistent or contaminated product.

Common confusion

“Lower price = lower quality” is too simple but the correlation is real — the cost of independent testing and proper handling is unavoidable, and very cheap vendors are typically cutting one of those corners.
