Noopept
A peptide nootropic developed in Russia — structurally distinct from the racetams but often grouped with them due to similar effects at much lower doses.
Why it matters
Noopept is technically a dipeptide ethyl ester. It is more potent per milligram than piracetam (typical doses are 10–30mg vs 1.6g+ for piracetam) and is thought to increase BDNF and NGF expression, both growth factors associated with neuroplasticity.
In practice
Typical use is 10–30mg daily, often sublingually for faster onset. Tolerance can develop with daily use; many users cycle on/off.
Common confusion
Noopept is sometimes characterised as a stronger piracetam. The pharmacology is different rather than just more potent.
