CBD gummy

An ingestible CBD product in a flavoured gelatin or pectin candy format — common because the dose is pre-portioned and the format is socially familiar.

Why it matters

Gummies are made by infusing a confection base with a measured amount of CBD (typically 10–50mg per piece). The format is unambiguous on dose, easy to carry, and avoids the herbal taste of oil. The trade-off is lower bioavailability than sublingual administration because CBD goes through first-pass liver metabolism before reaching circulation.

In practice

Quality flags: dose per piece on the label, batch COA, isolate vs broad/full-spectrum disclosure, sugar content. The “25mg gummy” market has substantial drift between label and actual content in unregulated brands.

Common confusion

“CBD gummies for sleep” often contain CBN and/or melatonin too. The sleep effect is usually not from the CBD.
