CBD oil

A general term for any CBD product in an oil carrier — overlapping with “tincture” and used most broadly to mean oral CBD drops.

Why it matters

“CBD oil” can refer to a tincture (sublingual drops), an ingestible cooking oil, a capsule fill, or a topical formulation. The carrier oil (MCT, hemp seed, olive, coconut) affects shelf life, mouthfeel, and to a small degree absorption.

In practice

For consumers the meaningful labels are spectrum (isolate, broad, full), CBD per mL, total bottle CBD, and the presence of a current COA. The marketing term “CBD oil” tells you the format, not the quality.

Common confusion

CBD oil and hemp seed oil are not the same. Hemp seed oil contains essentially no cannabinoids; CBD oil contains them by design.
