Hemp flower

Smokable cannabis flower from hemp cultivars — high in CBD, sometimes high in other minor cannabinoids, low enough in delta-9 to qualify as hemp.

Why it matters

Hemp flower is grown, harvested, dried, and cured like high-THC cannabis flower. The cultivars are bred for high CBD or other cannabinoid content within the federal 0.3% delta-9 limit. The format appeals to consumers who want the inhalation route and the full plant matrix without the THC.

In practice

Quality flags follow the same pattern as cannabis flower: visible trichome coverage, terpene aroma, COA disclosure, and current harvest date. The category quality has matured substantially since 2018.

Common confusion

“Smokable hemp” is sometimes assumed to be a fibre by-product. The current market is grown specifically for inhalation and resembles cannabis flower closely.
