Why it matters
In most mature cannabis flowers CBG is present at well under 1% because the plant has converted most CBGA into the major cannabinoids. CBG-dominant cultivars have been bred to halt that conversion. Pharmacologically CBG has affinity at CB1 and CB2 receptors and additional activity at alpha-2 adrenergic and 5-HT1A receptors.
In practice
Available as isolate, broad-spectrum tincture, and dedicated CBG flower. Early clinical interest centres on inflammatory bowel conditions, glaucoma, and antibacterial applications. Dose-finding is largely empirical because clinical data is thin.
Common confusion
CBG is sometimes called “the mother cannabinoid” — accurate as a biosynthetic fact, but it does not imply CBG is uniquely effective or important for the consumer.
