GHK-Cu
A copper-binding tripeptide (glycyl-histidyl-lysine + copper) used in skincare and research-peptide markets for tissue repair and anti-aging.
Why it matters
GHK is a naturally occurring tripeptide present in human plasma, with concentrations declining with age. Bound to copper it becomes GHK-Cu, with extensive evidence for skin repair, hair growth stimulation, and collagen synthesis in cell culture and animal studies. Topical formulations are common in cosmetic dermatology.
In practice
Research use includes injectable protocols for systemic effects and topical creams for skin applications. Cosmetic products use concentrations in the 0.1–1% range.
Common confusion
“Copper peptides” colloquially often means GHK-Cu specifically — the term has been adopted as a category despite there being other copper-binding peptides.
