Why it matters
Full-spectrum extracts retain CBD plus the minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBC, CBN, CBDA) and the volatile terpenes that survive extraction. The trace THC content is below the federal hemp threshold but can be measurable on a sensitive drug test. Pharmacologically, full-spectrum is the format most consistent with the entourage-effect hypothesis.
In practice
For consumers without drug-testing concerns, full-spectrum is the default recommendation for general use. Bioavailability of any oil-based format depends on co-administration with fat; sublingual hold time matters more than swallowing speed.
Common confusion
“Full-spectrum hemp” and “full-spectrum cannabis” extracts have meaningful differences — the latter contains substantially more THC and is regulated as marijuana, not hemp.
