Why it matters
A 10mg delta-9-THC gummy can be federally compliant hemp if the gummy itself is heavy enough that the THC stays below 0.3% by dry weight. Practically, that means large gummies (3–5g+) with 5–10mg delta-9-THC per piece are sold as hemp-derived even though they are psychoactive.
In practice
For consumers, “delta-9 hemp” gummies behave pharmacologically like state-licensed cannabis edibles at equivalent dose. The legal classification differs; the experience does not.
Common confusion
“Delta-9 hemp = legal weed everywhere” is partly true and rapidly changing. State responses are varied and the federal status is contested.
