Epitalon
A tetrapeptide synthesised in Russia and proposed to extend lifespan via telomerase activation — extensively used in longevity research.
Why it matters
Epitalon is a four-amino-acid peptide. Russian studies (mostly animal) report telomerase activation, lengthened telomeres, and lifespan extension. Western validation is limited. The compound is unscheduled in most jurisdictions and sold in the research-peptide market.
In practice
Typical research protocols use 5–10mg subcutaneously daily for 10–20 days, with annual or semi-annual cycles. Human pharmacokinetic data is thin.
Common confusion
Epitalon’s “lifespan extension” claims rest on animal studies that have not been independently replicated at Western standards.
